A garbage truck driver might not be your first search for a children’s book. But it’s too bad that this author hasn’t written more books about various jobs that people do. What might seem like a mundane occupation is explained here in the way it should be. That all people are necessary and that a lot of people work very hard and have a great deal of pride in the work they do. What possible better lesson could a child learn?
But you can sneak this learning right into your child’s
brain without them even thinking you’re trying to. The text is well written and
easy to read, and the illustrations make it fun. The author has also left a
parent or caretaker many opportunities to ask questions for open discussions.
