I love books with good characters, and these were so alive it could have been a tv show. Porter Beck, now a small-town Sheriff has his hands full with a pregnant wife who’s also a cop and tough as nails too. His whole staff is tough, fun, close, and Borgos made them very real. But the other thing Borgos did was make a possible serial killer, long unknown, rise from the ashes.
This was “I couldn’t put it down” writing. And I am hard to impress. I don’t give 5-star reviews lightly. They have to be books that have characters with personalities, a plot I just have to know more about, and be quite readable all molded into one book...
I’m not crazy about reading backwards in a series, but I think I might have to here. More importantly…I hope there will be a Book 5 soon.
