This is a cute read. It has what I call the normal elements of a cozy…the small town, a successful daughter home to help out her mother, and a handsome cop. However, this story does not have a dead body. That’s because there is no murder in this cozy mystery.
I felt that this book was really written for the YA, even tweenage genre. The writing is fine, it’s just that the characters seem somewhat younger or a better way to say it is the dialog seemed younger. Maybe I’m being unfair. Maybe my problem with this seeming somewhat immature for more adult readers is because there’s no murder. I really hate to think so, but in truth, the desperation of hunting for items in a missing time capsule that were placed in there by a high school class just struck me as something more for a Nancy Drew plot.
