What Don't I Like! AHA!!!

I am 100% sure I am going to offend someone. I'm going to apologize because I am a retired librarian and the most important thing about being a librarian is that people must always be allowed to read what they want and must never be judged.

But now, I'm gonna say what I don't like!

My "Popular or Famous Books I Don't Plan on Reading" are mostly genres, but there are a few specific books.

Mostly I don't like romance but I really, really don't like silly stupid romance books. and I HATE vampire books. So there, I said it. And...I'm not gonna read these even though thousands of people have.

Here are a few of those titles:

*Woman, Eating: A Literary Vampire Novel by Claire Kohda

*My Roommate Is a Vampire by Jenna Levine

*Slow Burn : A Motorcycle Club President Romance by Autumn Jones Lake

  1. I'm not a huge fan of romance myself, and what I've discovered is that I think I prefer my vampire stories to be televised rather than in book format.

  2. About once every few years I find a romance novel that’s okay, but other than that I steer away from that genre as well. (No offence to anyone who loves them!)

Vampire books generally aren’t my thing either due to so many of them either being steamy romances or being far too gory for my tastes.

  3. One especially irritating aspect of the romance genre is that it TAKES OVER search results. I search for baseball, my ebook consortium delivers...baseball romances. Motorcycle gangs? I get outlaw biker romances. There should be filters!

    1. Ain't that the truth! I can think of some pretty funny filters :)

  4. I have never heard of any of these - where have I been! 😂

  5. I enjoy romance novels, but they have to be well plotted and the characters need to be well-developed. If I can't care about the characters, then I won't read the book. I don't understand the appeal of vampires. Thanks for sharing.
