All My Bones by P.J. NelsonMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Very seldom do I pass up a “bookstore” story. I read Book 1 of this series and enjoyed it. The same is true of this second book in the series, Old Juniper Bookstore Mysteries. Maddie inherits a bookstore from her aunt in a town called Enigma. Believe me, a few of the loony quirky characters, even the bookstore, are just that, an enigma. I think that’s what makes this fun.
It is not the plot that keeps me reading P.J. Nelson’s books. Not that it is a bad plot. This is a cozy and it has its normal elements, a bookstore, a cat, a local cop, a dead body, etc. This one even read a little more slowly than his first book, but I have to tell you… he creates delightful characters and even sarcastic, funny dialog. It is for this reason I rated this book 4 stars. I still hope he writes another.
